Product Description

COUGHLIN tablet

COUGHLIN tablet provides two actions, both mucolytic and cough suppressing.

COMPOSITION

Each tablet contains:

Noscapine (15 mg), Bromhexine HC1(8mg)

PHARMACOLQGY

Noscapine is a centrally acting cough suppressant that has actions and uses similar to Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. It acts directly on the cough center in the medulla to raise the cough threshold or on the higher centers such as the cerebral cortex (where voluntary coughing is initiated). It differs from some antitussives that it is non-narcotic and therefore the problems associated with narcotic antitussives such as sedation, confusion, bronchospasm should be less frequent.

Bromhexine is a mucolytic expectorant, i.e. it fragments mucus so it is less tenacious and easier to expectorate

INDICATIONS

Relief of symptoms of cough with sputum.

DOSAGE AND ADMINSTRATION

Adults: Take one to two tabletsthree times daily or as directed by the physicians.
