“WEISEN-U” DUAL-ACTION'TABLETS

Characteristics

In our modern life, more and more people are suffering from gastric diseases. Gastric acid is essential to the digestion of food, while it attacks the damaged gastric mucosa and aggravates lesions.

WEISEN-U is composed of dry coated tablet consisting of inner core and outer layer of tablet which play an important role in the formulation.

Dried Aluminum Hydroxide Gel contained in the outer layer of tablet, which neutralizes gastric acid, protects the damaged gastric mucosa from the attack of gastric acid and pepsin by forming a layer on the surface of gastric mucosa. Biodiastase 2000，which is also contained in the outer layer of tablet, promotes digestion and absorption of starch and mitigates the load on the stomach.

Methylmethionine Sulfonium Chloride (Vitamin U) contained in the inner core of tablet haSi an action to restore the damaged gastric mucosa. Thus WEISEN-U can prevent the damaged gastric mucosa (gastric lesion) from developing into an ulcer.

Composition of Dual-Action WEISEN-U Tablets

Each WEISEN-U tablet consists of 2 tablets, an outer yellowish green tablet containing antacids and an enclosed inner core tablet containing Methylmethionine Sulfonium Chloride (See diagram)

Each tablet contains :    

OUTER LAYER (YELLOWISH GREEN)

Biodiastase 2000 ............................... 25mg

Dried Aluminum Hydroxide Gei ...........192mp

Magnesium Hydroxide (excipient)......... 159mg

INNER CORE (WHITE TO YELLOWISH WHITE)

Methylmethionine Sulfonium Chloride........25mg

Saccharin sodium. Food yellow No.4 (tartrazine), and Food yellow No.5 are formulated as additives.

Indications

Hyperacidity, heartburn, feeling of discomfort in the stomach, feeling of fullness in the stomach, heaviness in the stomach, heaviness in the chest, belching (burping), nausea (retching, stomach nausea, hangovers and drunken retching, etc.). over-drinking, stomach pain, promotion of digestion, indigestion, anorexia, over-eating.

Dosage

Adults shall take 1 tablet 3 times a day after meals.

Precautions

1.     The following patients should consult the physician or pharmacist before use.

(1) Patients with renal disorders

(2) Patients under treatment by a doctor

2.     The following cautions should be exercised in usage.

(1)    The indicated dose and administration should be followed strictly.

(2)    Use in children is not allowed.

3.     During and after use, the following cautions should be exercised.

(1) Using WEISEN-U may cause constipation or diarrhea.

(2) In case no improvement in symptoms is shown after treatment for about 2 weeks, discontinue the use and consult the physician or pharmacist.

4.     Precautions in storage and handling

(1)    Keep out of reach of children.

(2)    Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture. Store in a cool, dry place.

(3)    To avoid misuse and to maintain the quality, WEISEN-U should not be transferred to another container.

(4) The white desiccant should not be taken.

Recommendation

Recovery will be accelerated if patients, at the commencement of treatment, take a soft diet and avoid alcohol, spices and indigestible food : after 2 or 3 weeks, a normal but bland diet may be resumed.
