Melatonin is a natural hormone produced by the pineal gland, which is located near the base of the brain. It has a regulatory effect on the hypothalamus gland. Because of its influences, Melatonin can act as anti-oxidant, improve quality of sleep. As the body ages, decreasing amounts of Melatonin are released.
